If you have a massive computer doing the fingering (Multivac, eh? :) then (b) is arguably already well handled... and if not, it'll come as a by-product of (a).

Maybe it's just because I'm a computer engineer, but I tend to think of computing power alone as fairly useless.

we had sufficient computing power 41 years ago to start exploring space. what we need is fusion!
