I can rummage at ARTFL tomorrow if you like...is this one of the yo-yo type power adapters? 'Cause I know I've seen one of those around.

Yes, that would be excellent. The yo-yo type power adapters sound right.

Found one! I plugged it into my iBook to make sure it works, and as far as I can tell it's functional. What now? Email me about it if you like.

Unfortunately, mine seems to have been given away to someone with a similar request a while ago. But it may help you find one to know that it is compatible with the Wall Street, Lombard, and Pismo PowerBook G3, as well as the PowerBook 1400 and 3400. Compatibility may even go back farther, but I cannot recall.

Also, I have a relevant (uncharged) battery for such a system, if that turns out to be useful to you.

Best of luck.

Do you know if the battery can keep a charge?

It could in April of 2004, which is the last time I used it. At that time, it could keep a charge for a little over two hours running DebianPPC with the brightness low. You're welcome to it if it's helpful.
